Liz from Cabinteely Tidy Towns led a walking tour from Holmwood in Cabinteely to the ruins of the two crosses and the Graveyard of Tully Church on Launstown Lane.
On the way, Liz informed us about the ancient history that was in the area. We started at the Standing Stone (pictured below).
Liz wanted to led this tour for Heritage Week and also so that the local people would become involved with the site of the Church and Crosses. There is a new town been built around these heritage points, and Liz wants to make sure that these features are treated with the respect that they are due.
The whole event was incredibly informative for me. Liz will run another similar tour in the next while, so keep an eye out for the information, if you are interested in it.
