On a gorgeous Autumn day, I attended a Photography Workshop held by Bill Power (FIPF) in Cork, the focus of the Workshop was Toadstools in the Woods. This was a very interesting day, where I learnt a lot about Fungi and how to shoot them.
There are 35,000 types of Fungi, and the oldest in the world is over 2000 years old and covers an area of 15 kms in Nevada, USA. The Fungi or Toadstools that you see above the ground are the fruit of the Fungi. The ‘tree’ part is underground.
The main season for Fungi is between August and the end of November.
I look froward to wandering around the woods near by house looking for more of these little guys and hopefully, taking some decent photos of them.
