Poppies
I finally found a poppy field! It was a little later in the season then I would have liked, but, hopefully, it will still be there next year?
Kilmacurragh National Botanical Gardens
A trip to Kilmacurragh National Botanical Gardens was organised by Offshoot Photography Club in Wicklow. It was lovely to wander around this particular garden. I was delighted to see that there were some bluebells there. I have shared some of these shots in another post. There is a link to this garden below should you …
Mount Usher on Film
I did not make a note of which film these were shot on and I am still waiting to collect the negatives from the Lab. Mount Usher Gardens in Wicklow is always worth a visit, especially in Spring or Summer. These were taken with my Canon 300V camera, I think. I was delighted to see …
Powerscourt Waterfall
These photos come from multiple trips I made to see Powerscourt waterfall earlier this year. I shot both digital and film images when I was there. I have to go and get some better photos, it was the first day that I had shot with my Mamiya 645 camera (black and white image) The link …
Robins
Yesterday a friend of mine and myself went to Mount Usher Gardens in Wicklow to take some photos. When we were there a Robin followed us around making sure we didn't do anything silly. Robins are very sweet, brave little birds with a beautiful song. I hope to capture better photos of Robins in time.
Kilmacanogue Horse Show

I tried to document the people and competitions at this event. The photos below represent some of the pictures I took. There were sheep competitions, a weigh the lamb competition, show …
Powerscourt Gardens
Another place I frequently visit is Powerscourt Gardens in Enniskerry. When the gardens were originally been set out one of the gardens the designers used as inspiration was Versailles, having been to Versailles, I can see the influence in Powerscourt. The house and gardens have a long and fascinating history, which intertwines with some of …
Powerscourt Waterfall
I brought my small camera to Powerscourt Waterfall today, there was a haze in the area due to all the people that were hosting barbecues. We have not had a huge amount of rain recently, which lead to incredibly low water levels. This area is really beautiful and a place that I frequently return too. …
Mount Usher Gardens
Enjoying the sights and sounds of Mount Usher Gardens in Ashford is always a wonderful way to spend a day. It was overcast and the river was at the lowest level I have ever seen it, so certain reflection shots were not possible. The lack of any breeze meant that it was a good day …
